Weight Loss Juice / Smoothie

Nearly 75% of North Americans are over-weight. This is mainly due to the foods we are eating, as well as the sedentary lifestyle we now live. The good news is that it is all completely reversible. In fact, our bodies have the amazing ability to completely transform themselves in 7 years. What this means, is that if you feed your body with the proper food, exercise regularly, meditate often, and get plenty of sleep, your body has the ability to completely renew itself (down to the last cell) within 7 years. For those of you who doubt your bodies abilities, we suggest that you trust your bodies abilities in healing, and trust yourself in overcoming the pressures that society has put on us. You can achieve anything you put action to. Never give up!

In an effort to help you through the process, we have provided you with a drink (courtesy of Nomi Shannon) that will not only help you shedding the extra weight, but it will also provide your body with the proper nourishment it needs. This drink is multifaceted; it helps detoxify the body, it helps slows your bodies oxidation by providing it with plenty of anti-oxidants, it is anti-inflammatory, and it also aids in digestion - you can't get much better than that!

We must advise you however, this is not a magic formula; magic formulas do not exist, except if you are  following a program that encompasses many different methods or steps that benefit the whole of your body, mind and soul. Always ensure that you are eating lots of fruits and veggies, drink plenty of water, exercise often, meditate daily, and get plenty of rest. Weight Loss Smoothie

Ingredients:

2 cups (500 mL) of organic pineapple, cut up
1/2 medium organic cucumber, skin on
1 cup (250 mL) organic cabbage, packed, cut up
1 large organic carrot
2 stalks of organic celery, with leaves
A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)


Tools Needed:

Juicer
If you don't have a juicer, a high quality commercial blender can be used

Directions:

If making in a blender: put 3/4 cup (180 mL) water and pineapple in blender and blend. Add cucumber and blend, then add remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth, then strain through a nut milk bag or cheesecloth (straining optional).
Serves 1

Nutritional Information:

Each serving contains: 250 calories; 5 g protein; 8 g total fat (0 g trans fat); 62 g carbohydrates; 11 g fibre; 170 mg sodium
