Your Soul’s Journey To Wholeness (Part 6 of 6)

By Joyce Friesen;

Our soul is immortal, infinite and eternal; a direct representative from God. It begins its earthly journey, when it separates from God the eternal silence and enters into the world of sound or duality here on earth. From silence comes sound but when we transcend the world of sound we can again enter into the universal Silence from which all creation was and is being manifested.

So the essence of our earthly journey through many incarnations is to have experiences while traveling back to our source of oneness with the Creator.

As T.S. Eliot so beautifully phrased it, “We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.” This journey is a spiral, always moving upward. When we see the top of a spiral, we realize that it is not the end, but the beginning of another spiral going up, up, up.

Beginning in the mineral kingdom, passing through the animal kingdom we finally end up as human beings. This is where our real work begins. To rid ourselves of all those qualities of inertia, attachment, and aggression that we picked up along the way and become the divine being that we are is the purpose of our existence.

So is it any wonder that the first sound a baby makes is a loud cry? It’s back into the earth arena having travelled from its celestial home where it took a short rest from its last life. It’s afraid because the beautiful soul realizes it will again be enveloped in the ignorance of the earth plane.

Sri Chinmoy said is perfectly, “If you do not obey the whispering of your soul, yours will be a life of bitter frustration.” So our earthly journey to wholeness is to peel back all those layers of ignorance that have covered our beautiful shining soul. When it does shine through we become a warm heart, an illumined mind, a dynamic vital, and a striving body running towards fulfillment.

Life is a struggle, but if we aspire and keep our focus on the Goal, which is to again become inseparable one with The One, we will succeed. “We are on a mission from God,” said John Belushi. So when we are tempted to give up we must always remember our divine mission.

Actually we have a twofold mission. Our first goal is to return to our Source, by loving God the Creator. We do this through our conscious aspiration, through our prayers and meditation.

The second part of our mission is to love God the Creation, through our self giving and selfless service to other human beings. When we stop criticizing, blaming, judging and practice compassion and oneness with all including ourselves then only can we achieve lasting Peace and Love.
